Vivo Energy’s Shell Club ‘Join & Win’ promotion ends with grand finale in Kampala
Rasto Butiga, John Barongo, and Geoffrey Mugabi, were the lucky winners as Shell products marketer and distributor, Vivo Energy Uganda, concluded a four-month Shell Club promotion February 15.
Butiga, a businessman in Gayaza, drove off with the Toyota Hiace grand prize, while Barongo and Mugabi rode off with brand new motorcycles in Vivo’s loyalty reward promotion.
The final three winners were selected during a televised draw held on Bukedde TV on February 5, 2024, and were presented with their prizes at Shell Banda service station February 15.
Describing the van as a miracle that will elevate his financial status, forty-year-old Rasto Butiga, said he first thought he was dealing with pranksters when the call informing him about his win came through.
“I received a mysterious call one evening, informing me that I was the proud winner of this van. Of course, I responded by asking more questions and even grilling the callers thinking that they were conmen. It was after recognsing the familiar voice of presenter Bruno Betty from Bukedde TV who assured me that the promotion was real and indeed the car belonged to me, that I believed,” said an excited Butiga.
Before presenting the Toyota Hiace van and motorcycles to the latest winners, Vivo Energy Uganda managing director Johan Grobbelaar, congratulated and encouraged them to continue to use the Shell Club loyalty platform to earn more points and, share among their peers, about the company’s commitment to providing the best fuel and products on the market. He further expressed his delight at the positive impact the promotion has had on the lives of the winners.

Launched last October, the Shell Club ‘Join and Win’ promotion celebrated and rewarded active Shell customers, offering them a chance to win premium prizes that included two Toyota Hiace vans and seven brand-new motorcycles. Other prizes included instant rewards, such as shopping vouchers branded t-shirts and assorted items that were also distributed during special “happy hour” activations held at Shell service stations countrywide.
