Stanbic Bank awarded for digital performance
September 29—Stanbic Bank Uganda (SBU) has been recognized as the ‘Best Mobile Banking Service Provider for its extraordinary mobile banking platform and as the ‘Best Promoter of Financial Literacy for the 2017’ for sponsoring the Stanbic Bank National Schools Championships.
The 4th Digital Impact Awards Africa ran under the theme ‘Maximizing the digital dividend and minimize digitization risks’.
Accepting the awards on behalf of SBU, Veronica Sentongo, Head of Digital Channels said, “We are extremely proud to receive this award because it confirms that the investments we have made in our digital platforms are working.
She said, “In the past year alone we have installed additional smart AMT’s which credit cash deposits instantly; launched a revolutionary new merchant payment solution FlexiPay and introduced. The Stanbic Bank App which gives customers a single-view platform for all interaction with the services offered by the bank.”
Dr. Maggie Kigozi, who presided over the 2017 Digital Impact Awards, praised the bank, “For standing the test of time and being with Ugandans in good and bad economic conditions.”
