IN BRIEF: Riders Lounge debuts in Kigali
KAMPALA, DECEMBER 05 – International entertainment franchise Riders Lounge is one of several international brands that will be opening in Kigali shortly after President Paul Kagame opened a couple of modern shopping centres in the Rwandan capital today.
Riders is located in Kigali Heights, an upscale development in the upmarket Gishushu area just across the raod from the Radisson Blue Hotel and Convention Centre. The lounge will be one of a few international brands such as Mr. Price and Bossini which have also taken residence in the new property.
Ahead of the mid-afternoon launch of Kigali Heights, President Kagame first presided over the official opening of the sprawling CHIC Complex in downtown Kigali a commercial development boasting nearly 10,000 square metres of floor space. The complex is owned by several hundred members of a local cooperative who pooled their savings to finance the development.
Kigali has seen a rapid increase in supply of top grade corporate and retail space this year. The buildings launched today follow the launch earlier in the year of the 10,000 square metre Peace Plaza but Denis Karera, the core investor in Kigali Heights says space on the propertyis already 46percent subscribed.
