East Africa’s inaugural airshow, initially scheduled for December 20224, has been pushed back to a yet to be determined date in 2025, the organisers said June 25.

“The organizing committee of the East African Airshow regrets to announce the postponement of this highly anticipated event to a yet-to-be-determined date in 2025. This decision has been made due to unforeseen circumstances that have impacted our ability to deliver the world-class event that our stakeholders, industry partners, and sponsors expect and deserve,” EAA Airshow said in a statement.

The show had initially been scheduled toEast African Airshow to run over the course of three days in Entebbe, starting December 7.  The event was a collaboration between publishers The Aviator Africa, Airspace Africa and air transport regulator Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.

Its announcement last year and the revelation that it would be hosted rotationally across East Africa had generated a lot of interest across the full spectrum of stakeholders ranging from aviation enthusiasts to airline operators, service providers and original equipment manufacturers.

“This event isn’t just about aircraft and displays; it’s about impact – the ripple effect that extends beyond the skies. We anticipate that the Annual East African Airshow will leave an indelible mark on the next generation. Young minds will be ignited with curiosity, dreams will take flight, and the aspirations of tomorrow’s aviation and tourism leaders will find their wings here,” the organisers had promised in marketing brochures.
