More than 500 delegates from the Ugandan and Kenyan tourism fraternity are expected to attend the third edition of the Uganda- Kenya Coast Tourism Conference, as the promotional event comes home for the first time since inception in 2022.

Organised by the Uganda Consulate in Mombasa in conjunction with stakeholders in the Ugandan and Kenyan tourism sectors, the conference will run from 20th- 21st November 2024 at Kampala’s Speke Resort Munyonyo, under the theme “The Uganda- Kenya Coast partnership: Promoting job creation, inclusivity and sustainability”.

Uganda and Kenya have been using the event to chart opportunities for complementarity between the Uganda’s unique wildlife offerings and sun and sand on Kenya’s extensive coastline. Organisers believe that leveraging the synergies between the two destinations will result in market growth for both and boost investment in the sector in both countries.

Through the conference, tourism marketers get an opportunity to experience the products first hand, putting them in a better position to sell the two destinations.

The conference will be preceded by a familiarization tour of Uganda for 70 Kenya tourism stakeholders from 8th – 18th November. The tour will cover Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Semliki Hot Springs, Source of the Nile and Namugongo Martyrs Museum. A golf tournament between Uganda and Kenya, will also be held on 9th November 2024 at Kampala Golf Club.
