South Africa registered Airlink has will increase frequency to Nairobi, adding three weekly night flights starting March 30, 2025.

Complementing the once daily daytime service, the night departures on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays take to 10 the number of available flights on the route by Airlink and provide greater choice for business and leisure travellers between Nairobi and Johannesburg. For now, only Airlink and state-owned Kenya Airways offer a direct service between the capitals of two of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

“Kenya is an important market and the route provides a vital connection between the two major hubs, stimulating bilateral and inter-regional travel, trade and economic activity. Airlink’s competitive and convenient flights will promote tourism in both markets,” explained Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.

The outbound 4Z 072 will depart Johannesburg at 2030 local time every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, arriving in Nairobi at 0130am the next day. The reciprocal flight 4Z 073 will then depart Nairobi at 0215 local every Monday, Thursday and Saturday for a same day arrival in Johannesburg at 0525.

The carrier will deploy its 98 seat Embraer E-190 jets and like the existing service, the new flights are positioned to neatly plug into domestic and regional services as well as with long-haul flights provided by its constellation of global airline partners through its Johannesburg hub.
