European airframer Airbus delivered 323 aircraft and chalked up 327 gross orders during the first half of 2024, to maintain a health orderbook. But the deliveries, up 2pc over the same period in 2023, reflected the ongoing supply chain challenges affecting the industry. Airbus now forecasts full-year deliveries of 770 aircraft, 30 down from the 800 projected at the start of the year.

Net orders for the period weighed in at 310 aircraft while gross order intake for June 2024 was 73 while deliveries stood at 67 to 40 customers. Some 65 customers received Airbus aircraft during the first half of the year.

The A350 line booked a total of 103, split 5, 51 and 47 between the freighter, -900 and -1000. The A330 also showed resilience registering order for 4 units of the legacy A330-200 platform and 23 for the -900 neo.

Most impacted by the supply chain disruptions is the A320 family whose earlier promised ramp up to a monthly rate of 75, has been pushed back from 2026 to 2027.
